I love projects that involve working with creative entrepreneurs with big dreams and ambitious goals – this is one of those projects. Möbelmakeriet is a local company based in Malmö, Sweden, that specialises in furniture manufacturing and upholstery. During start-up phase in 2015, I was assigned to create the logotype for the business.
With special attention to the founder’s love for armchairs and sofas, I designed a shape representing an armchair with loose parts symbolising “under construction”. The fonts mixes antique with modern, so as to emphasise upholstery is a craft that has been around and evolved over centuries. Colours are chosen keeping in mind the owner’s boldness and playfulness both in personality and interior style, while at the same time keeping it clean.
